Price of Honda CD 70 crossed Rs. 1 Lac

 Atlas Honda has declared yet another major price hike for its bikes. This is Honda’s third price hike in 2022, which places it in the lead in terms of price hikes announced by a bike manufacturer so far.

The new prices of all Honda bikes are as follows:

According to the latest report by the Ministry of Industries and Production (MoIP), Pakistan’s bike industry has achieved over 90 percent localization. This indicates that most of a bike’s structural and mechanical components are made in Pakistan, while only a few are imported.

These claims seem accurate as Pakistani bike makers manufacture and sell basic products. However, despite that, all companies continue to increase the prices of their bikes, gradually driving them out of reach for most buyers.

Pakistan’s motorcycle industry, despite being highly profitable and successful, continues to deny people newer and better products. Despite that, their sales continue to skyrocket due to the increasing demand.

EDB Advises All Automakers Against Regular Price Hikes

 Passenger cars are getting more out of reach due to everyday price upsurges by the car assemblers. Since January 2022, automakers such as Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC), Honda Atlas Cars (HCAR), Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC), and a few others have announced multiple price climbs for their respective locally assembled cars.

Engineering Development Board (EDB) has issued a harsh warning to all local car assemblers in Pakistan against the recent price hikes. According to an official document the board has asked all local assemblers to provide their cost structures and explanation for the recent hikes upto 7^th May, 2022.

Automakers are inflexible that they have no choice but to upsurge the prices of their cars due to rising raw material costs, shipment costs, and devaluation of local currency.

The government is extremely worried and has taken a very serious view about the frequent price increases by local automobile manufacturers/assemblers. This state of affairs is clearly unacceptable and the government may consider to initiate regulatory measures, which may include fixation of prices under the Price Control Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding Act, 1977.

PEMRA DTH License In PAKISTAN

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), has announced that auction process of DTH licenses and date also for the auction will announce 3rd october , 2016.

During the Board meeting PEMRA decided and planned to auction DTH licenses late last year, whole processed was scrapped when new PEMRA chairman was appointed / hired for just one week ahead of auction.

DTH License Fee Details:

Three licences for Direct to Home Distribution service DTH Licence, Provided that there are enough eligible bidder, shall be awarded.

A single DTH Licence shall be awarded to any single bidder / company.

The basic price of DTH Licence shall be PKR 200 Million.

An annual veriable licence fee of 2% of the gross revenue generated from the Service & fixed annual fee of PKR 10.0 Million will be paid to PEMRA.

The variable fee shall be waived off for initially three years with effect from dae of issuance of license.

DTH Auction:

DTH licenses will be issued through an opend bidding process in the month of October dated 03.10.2016

Criateria for Licences:

DTH Licenses won't be issued to any companies who operate in broadcast media (electronic TV channel holders etc.)

One company must not control over directly or indirectly more than one DTH Services.

Applicant must have at least 50 percent ownership from partner locally.
