Air Marshal Arshad Malik is set to retire from PAF is also set to take the helm at Pakistan International Airlines as the Chief Executive Officer for three more years. His employment as the CEO is said to be on a 3 year agreement basis.He was given the role of CEO PIA and Yesterday, news broke that the federal cabinet has selected Malik as the CEO of the national flag carrier for the next three years.
In the same sitting, the cabinet was informed in detail about the progresses pertaining to the pilots with fake licenses. The cabinet was told that instant actions have already been taken against the pilots holding counterfeit degrees. Having heard the developments, the cabinet ordered for the scrutiny of the fake license issue to be brought to its supposition on an urgent basis.
PIA had fired up 49 employees from the corporation. Out of those
49, 25 were dismissed on the charges of (allegedly) possessing fake or altered
degrees, 21 for lengthy absence, one for abuse of organizational rules, two for
non-consensual disclosure of official information on social and mainstream
media.
