Ufone is going to charge WhatsApp
calls as per regular data tariffs that is Rs. 20 for first MB and then Ninteen
MBs free. Regular usage of WhatsApp will be charged from data bundles
volumes. New tariffs are effective
immediately.
WhatsApp calls, with all the
excellent quality, have given a real threat for telcos, especially in
developing voice revenues are still notable and contribute a major share
towards overall revenues of telecom operators.
Even harder for such telcos,
WhatsApp calls work like a Storm on 3g network operators and this is finally
why Ufone has decided to charge WhatsApp calls as per regular data tariffs
instead of free bucket volume.
